Here's how your publication project succeeds: - Bring in the translators, interpreters and related service providers as early as possible; agree on project leadership.
- Describe your objectives.
- Describe your target group(s) and the country/countries involved.
- Provide background information, such as:
- special fields; demonstration of equipment
- reference literature
- terminology sources
- selection of languages
- language technology support needed
- choice of media (printed copy, electronic publishing, print-on-demand)
- the budget.
- Introduce the people responsible, including text author(s)
- at your site
- at your partners' site.
- Set down procedures for approval; agree on quality criteria and level.
- Agree on deadlines.
- Agree on file formats, postal services, Internet resources (E-mail, FTP, WWW, groupware), etc. to be used in the project; time schedule for intermediate and final deliveries.
- Have the manuscripts read by the people responsible at home and abroad.
- Have the manuscripts edited by Transco-op.
- Hand over the manuscript files to the graphical designer.
- Hand over the manuscript files to the webmaster.
- Hand over the originals to the printer.
- Give Transco-op feedback - customer satisfaction, schedule, functionality of intermediate and final deliveries and of the end product.
